The barn bit in their name comes from mostly building their mud nests on our human buildings. You’re welcome. Its long, deeply forked tail streams out behind it when in flight, which is pretty much always. A super-agile flier, the Barn Swallow often cruises impressively few inches above the ground or water to hunt. What a worthy pair for your backyard.
