Super-songbird Wren’s secret is being able to hit two notes at the same time – as well, this wee winter Wren’s song can outlast and outpitch any other Canadian bird. It might be small and dun-coloured, but hold onto your hat – its Latin name is Troglodytes troglodytes. Harming a wren is said to bring bad luck and we’ll second that. This charming little battler with its vertically-cocked tail feather is guaranteed to put a small on your face every time you look out the window.
